LOUISVILLE, KY(Special Release) -
The National Quartet Convention has

announced that legendary singer/songwriter, Bill Gaither, and his popular quartet, the Gaither Vocal Band, will be among the many multi-talented recording artists scheduled to appear during the 2008 National Quartet Convention. The event is set to take place during the week of September 8 through 13 at the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center in Louisville, KY.

According to NQC Vice President, Clarke Beasley, The Gaither Vocal Band and popular quartet, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, will present the Together Showcase on Thursday, September 11. "We are thrilled that Bill Gaither will be a part of the 2008 National Quartet Convention, and we look forward to the performances of the Gaither Vocal Band and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound," Beasley stated. "As thrilled as the NQC Board is to have them, I know our attendees and supporters will be even more thrilled be able to see these phenomenal artists on the NQC stage once again."

Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, who are among the artists regularly featured on the highly successful Gaither Homecoming Tour, joined forces with The Gaither Vocal Band earlier this year to produce a DVD/CD recording, entitled Together, which was released in October, and has already boasted sales figures exceeding 50,000 units.

In addition to Thursday afternoon's Together Showcase, both The Gaither Vocal Band and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound will also be a part of Friday night's concert line-up on September 12 in Freedom Hall. "It's no secret that I love Southern Gospel Music," Gaither commented. "It's an important part of my childhood and my musical heritage, so naturally there are few things that warm my heart quite like hearing four singers and a piano rev it up! In my mind, the only thing better than a great gospel quartet is a whole week full of them! So I'm looking forward to the opportunity to participate in the National Quartet Convention with great anticipation. It is always a wonderful time to hear lots of great quartet music and connect with old friends. This year will be great fun, as well, because The Gaither Vocal Band will be joining up with Ernie Haase & Signature Sound to sing some of the songs from our Together project, which truly fulfills my belief that two quartets are better than one!"

10-10-07 Rex Humbards Funeral

Rex Humbards Funeral ... A Note from Ernie
As many of you know a wonderful man of God went home last week to his eternal rest. The Rev Rex Humbard.  Rex was founder and pastor of one of the the first "Mega" churches in America ...... The Cathedral of Tomorrow in Akron Ohio.
Rex was a pioneer when it came to TV.  He was the first to broadcast his church services all over the world starting in the early 50's when TV was just starting to be a common thing in households.
To read the story about his service click on this link to the
Washington Post
I had the blessing to attend this service with my family and pay our respects.  And we had much respects to pay!  Back in 1964 Rex called my father in law George Younce who at that time was not singing and really down on his luck and not as close to the Lord as He once was.  George told me that Rex took a chance on me and gave me the opportunity to have a fresh start.  George moved his family to Stow, OH and started singing bass in Rex's group The Cathedral Quartet with what would be his long time friend Glen Payne and the rest is history.
Thank God for the life and ministry of the man who touched millions through his personal touch and love for souls.

At the funeral many wonderful things were said by Bill Gaither, Benny Hinn, Wayne Jones, Richard Roberts and wonderful hymns were sung by the Gatlin Brothers along with Bill on the bass and even letting me help out on the tenor.
As so many great men have proved .... ones ministry out lives them .... Rex is still touching lives and we are so grateful to have known him!
To read more about this amazing man and his story click here  www.rexhumbard.com I highly recommend you do.

Plus Looking for a Buss driver

Frankie Mills in Orange shirt & David
We will say more about it later but EH&SS would like to welcome to our family Frankie Mills as our product manager.  Frank is a long time friend and has traveled with us these past few years from time to time. However, as of last week (June 14th) it is official........ He is our product manager.  Be sure to welcome him to our family when you come to one of our concerts.  You can't miss him he is tall and has kinda big ears (sorry frankie) and most of all HE IS A HOOSIER AND CAN PLAY BASKETBALL!  In other words He is one of us.
He's in the picture above wearing the orange shirt and standing with David Griffith. We will have more pictures up later to introduce you to him and his sweet family.
Also, Now this sounds like a promotion and it should ..... our own David Griffith is now officially the EH&SS Production Manager!"
This is nothing you may need to know but I feel we owe it to Gritt to give him his props!
David has been working so hard behind the scenes learning on the fly how to run sound, interacting with promoters and venues, fronting dates and a lot of things that make it all work that he has earned this position.  David is still driving the bus but with all these duties we are now looking for a "Full Time" driver to relieve David of this important task.
Spread the word ......   anyone who might be interested in the new opening can inquire by contacting us at eteam@erniesigsound.com.
To all our friends who ask how to pray keep praying for the right MAN to drive (no ladies.... sorry) and to be apart of our team.  In time it will all work out I am sure.
In Closing thanks for all the love and support ..... God is blessing and we are grateful for His great love for all His children.
In Christ,
Ernie

An on going bad situation worsened this weekend..... Roy's estranged father has been fighting cancer and is right at deaths door. Roy said it is very VERY bad! In the light of the situation and the fact that there are years and years of "issues" between them that need to somehow come to a close "Real Fast" He (Roy) felt the right thing to do was come off the road and "Deal" with these "Real Issues" of life, death, family and healing.

Apr 24 07   Roy Webb releases solo project

SoGospelLovers

One of Southern Gospel Music’s most talented pianists, Roy Webb, pianist for Ernie Haase & Signature Sound recently released his debut solo recording, YOU RAISE ME UP. The recording is a compilation of several of Webb’s favorite songs. “This is something I have been wanting to do for quite some time, and I’m thankful I finally had the opportunity,” Webb says.

YOU RAISE ME UP contains classic hymns, as well as several praise and worship songs, including Roy’s all-time favorite, Above All. “Lenny LeBlanc came to my church about nine years ago,” Webb explains. “He sang several songs everyone knew and then the words to this song popped up on the two large screens on each side of the stage. It was a song he and a friend had just written. The song spoke to my heart. From the first time I heard it to now, it is my favorite praise and worship chorus...ever!”

In addition to Above All, the recording contains the title cut, as well as hymns, What A Friend We Have In Jesus, Wayfaring Stranger, Tell Me The Story Of Jesus, Softly And Tenderly, Just A Little Talk With Jesus and I Surrender All. With each selection, Webb’s exceptional musical ability shines brightly. Webb’s energy and enthusiasm is most evident on this recording, just as it is each time this extraordinary pianist steps onto a concert stage with Ernie Haase & Signature Sound “Every night I’m on stage with Signature Sound I can’t believe I’m actually doing this for a living,” Webb shares.

The 36-year-old Dayton, OH, native started playing piano at the age of 16, yet continues to strive to perfect his talent. He studies piano at the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, which allows him the opportunity to study a wide variety of musical stylings. This diversity is reflected on YOU RAISE ME UP. “What A Friend We Have In Jesus has a real jazz feel. The Swing Low Medley has a blues feel, and I Surrender All has a very simple, traditional arrangement. We tried to include something for everyone,” Webb says.

Roy Webb’s debut solo recording YOU RAISE ME UP, may be purchased on-line at www.erniesigsound.com.

Apr 10 2007 National Day Of Prayers
SSQ I Pledge My Allegiance 2007 Theme Song

On May 3 Big Bear Valley is invited to join the rest of the country in recognizing the National Day of Prayer. Millions across the United States will observe the 56th annual National Day of Prayer celebrating the freedom to gather, worship and pray.

This year’s theme “America, Unite in Prayer” is based on 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

“At this crucial time in history, with our armed forces engaged in a desperate struggle in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere, we encourage all people of faith to set aside their differences and publicly seek God’s wisdom and direction for those in harm’s way and for our homes, communities and country,” said Shirley Dobson, National Day of Prayer task force chair. “Our founding fathers recognized the power of prayer and gathered regularly to ask for God’s blessing. We can do no less.”

Author and pastor Charles Swindoll is the 2007 honorary chairman and will address the national NDP event in Washington, D.C., to be held at the Cannon House Office Building. To highlight this year’s emphasis, Swindoll has released a new edition of his book “Intimacy with the Almighty,” which provides personal insights to guide people on their journey of faith. In addition, gospel music sensations Ernie Haase and Signature Sound have recorded “I Pledge My Allegiance,” NDP’s 2007 theme song.

The National Day of Prayer tradition predates the founding of the United States of America, evidenced by the Continental Congress’ proclamation in 1775 setting aside a day of prayer. In 1952, Congress established an annual day of prayer, and in 1988 that law was amended, designating the National Day of Prayer as the first Thursday in May.

In Big Bear Valley, the National Day of Prayer gathering will begin at 7 p.m. at Calvary Chapel. The event is open to the public. Calvary Chapel is at 713 Stocker Road, Big Bear Lake. Go to  National Day of Prayer Website

Feb 8 2007  Gospel star ready to 'Give It Away' On the current
leg of his  Homecoming concert tour,
Bill Gaither  emphasizes  charity & compassion.

For all his Grammys, Dove Awards and other accolades, Bill Gaither isn't satisfied.

True, his Homecoming concert series consistently ranks as one of the top-grossing tours worldwide. Along with his praise-music empire, the gospel star lends his name to DVD collections, satellite-radio shows, Caribbean cruises and an inspirational magazine.

But all that would be hollow, Gaither said, if he and his wife, Gloria, didn't give back. That's why he named this year's concert event the "Throw Your Heart Wide Open - Give It Away" Homecoming Tour. The concert comes to the Kansas Coliseum Saturday.

The tour's name was inspired by a song on his most recent Gaither Vocal Band CD, Gaither said in a phone interview.

"We hope to encourage people to give to causes out there in Wichita, or in Africa," he said.

Whether you make a contribution to an overseas charity or donate your time closer to home, service is a way to shine the light of faith into the darkness, he added.

"We're helping people find ways of investing in other people's lives," he said. "If the statistics on the difference between rich and poor growing are true, the church needs to come to the plate and say, 'We need to help with this.' "

At 70, Gaither is helping the way he always has -- through worship, leadership and music. As in previous years, the marathon Homecoming concert will feature Gaither as MC, joined by the Gaither Vocal Band and Homecoming regulars such as Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, the Isaacs, and Jeff and Sheri Easter. Keyboardist Gordon Mote is a new addition, replacing the late Anthony Burger at piano.

"He's a big-leaguer," Gaither said of Mote, who will perform as a soloist and accompany the Gaither Vocal Band. In addition to his work in the gospel field, Mote has recorded with country artists such as Alan Jackson, Trisha Yearwood and Rascal Flatts.

Although he touches briefly on the rest of the lineup for the Homecoming tour, Gaither's enthusiasm for the concert is most evident in the stories he shares about how the "give it away" philosophy has taken root in the hearts of his fans.

They're not just donating blood or volunteering at a food bank, he said. One couple with grown children sold their California home and moved to Colorado to join Compassion International, a Christian child welfare organization. Another couple helped pay for groceries for a family of 10 for many years.

"We're trying to get some creative handles on how to do this, how to be a light in the darkness," Gaither said.

One way to do it, he added, is to share the things that are best enjoyed when given away: faith, friendship and, of course, music. BY JILLIAN COHAN The Wichita Eagle

Feb 7 2007 Ehss Enjoy Unprecedented Chart Success ...

Nashville, TN (2-1-07) – Gospel music sensations, Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, set new career benchmarks by debuting atop multiple Billboard charts (January 31st), both audio and video, with their Get Away Jordan projects, which released last week.

Not only did the Get Away Jordan CD debut in the top spot on both the Contemporary Christian and Southern Gospel audio charts, but it also garnered the 58th spot on Billboard’s Top 200, a rare, astonishing feat for a gospel project. The long-form DVD of the same name similarly debuted #1 on the Billboard Music Video chart ahead of projects by Andrea Bocelli, Creed, Valentin Elizarde, Il Divo, the Eagles, Metallica and Celtic Woman. In the modern SoundScan era, only one other southern gospel act has debuted in the #1 slot on the Top Christian Album chart or had their project debut as high on the Top 200 – Bill and Gloria Gaither, for whose label Ernie Haase and Signature Sound record.

Signature Sound’s founder and tenor singer, Ernie Haase, expressed his delight at the responsive chord the CD and DVD had ignited among music buyers. “You can garner awards, critical acclaim and criticism, but in the end, what really matters, is what the people say,” Haase explained. “The people have voted this week that what we do matters.”

One fan who was thrilled at the debut success of Get Away Jordan is the Oak Ridge Boys’ long-time tenor, Joe Bonsall, who had just downloaded the CD from an on-line retailer. “What I like about Signature Sound is they can take brand new songs and make them sound like an instant classics,” Bonsall pointed out. “They can also take classic old songs like ‘Get Away Jordan’ and make them sound new and fresh. The whole group strikes me that way when I see them perform, doing those great Statesmen or Blackwood Brothers songs. I really appreciate the boys because they’re doing something the Oak Ridge Boys tried to do back in the middle 70s without as much success, and that’s try to take southern-style gospel to the masses.”
